New box in depository

Hi game developers!

Much water has flown under the bridge since previous entry in this blog :)

In this entry I want to inform you about a new box we have put in our depository. It's devoted to documentation and articles. There are already some stuff in it: a documentation in chm-format which refers to Xors3d 1.14 (we'll update it soon) and an article called "Shaders in Xors3d Engine. First steps" in English and in Russian. The article was pleasantly written by Knightmare in Russian and your humble servant has decorated and translated it in English.

Hi people!

1.13 is released! See the list of changes.

In short. We added a joystick support and rewrote xScript. Now it's based on AngelScript and it allows to call any engine function from the script. You'll find samples as usual here.

Making scribbles not so occasional

Posted by .Squid in blog

Scribbles were intended to be a sort of blog + news. But I have so little free time that it doesn't look like a blog at all because new messages appears two times per month :)
So I decided to write a new entry and tell you about what we are doing.
Well, at the beginning we decided to start using some version control software because a manual merging of versions which were modified by different developers is a HELL. Furthermore, a new hosting has automatical installation of SVN, and it would be a crime not to use it. But I remembered that I had heard about a new version control system (actually it's not so new, but it's definitely newer than SVN). So I decided to try it. Well, lack of experience in administrating UNIX-server leads to troubles in installation of web-applications. And even if everything looks good, it can be not so good in fact. What do I mean? Now we are using good old SVN :) I hope I will puzzle out problems with Bazaar, because according to reviews and comments it's really great (anyway it merges version better than SVN).
What's next.. Aha, documentation! We understand an absolute need of documentation, but who did think that it would be so hard to make it? We didn't even realise that Xors3d has more than 500 functions. Plus the same number of functions in [Phi]sics and about 70 functions in FastImage. Jeez! But we are working on documentation. At first time it will be online and then we're planning to make an additional offline one.
And in the end what you will see in new version. We implemented a joystick support (only basic functions without feedback - but it was agreed because joystick support was not planned in this version). Also you will see a new version of xScript. Knightmare did make a titanic work. He bound all Xors3d functions in xScript and now you can execute native xors3d functions just from the script. Well, it's always better to see by your own eye than read about it - you'll see the example.
Good luck!

Good news for us and for you! :)

Our third teammate (actually he is the first one because he has started Xors3d project) is back! Now updates should be released more often because of a synergy.

Good news for potential customers. The price of FastImage has been reduced by half. See updates on this page.

And I remind you that if you already bought blitz3d-versions of FastImage or [Phi]sics (PhysX Wrapper) you can get their versions for Xors3d for free. You only need to contact us.

Welcome at the new website!

Hi everyone! Welcome at xors3d.com !

We decided to move to the new hosting and I think that this decision was right. First of all we've got more disk space and now we can collect all previous versions of our products. Secondly, we've got a new corporate mail. At last, now we have such things like SVN and web-based project management system - I'm sure that all these things will help us to work more effectively.

Now I probably should tell about changes comparatively to rubux.net. New download section which is now called Depository. New gallery. New sections for Xors3d and its add-ons. New community forum based on phpbb3 (hurray!). Documentation section based on MediaWiki [in fact it's still closed because we didn't fill it with documentation enough]. And a sort of blog called Scribble where we plan to write news, announcements, development logs and some interesting related stuff (I hope we will find time for this).
